My story

I was born in Sweden to a Greek-Cypriot father and a Russian mother. Growing up with Orthodox Christianity, Mediterranean warmth, and Slavic directness shaped how I see the world long before I had words for it. I've lived in Cyprus long enough to call it home, but the mix never fully settles. I speak Greek and English fluently, Russian well enough to get by, and I've learned that growing up between cultures either confuses you or makes you adaptable. It did the latter.

Fencing

The biggest thing that shaped me isn't on any CV. It's fencing. My father brought the sport to Cyprus and founded its first club. I picked up a sword at six years old and never really put it down. I became champion in every age category I competed in. I travelled to many countries competing at European and World events. I made the national team, competing with support from the federation and the Bank of Cyprus. At my last year as a Cadet, I became the first Cypriot to reach the Top 32 at both the European and World Championships.

Fencing gave me discipline, drive, and a very specific relationship with losing. You compete alone on a piste, no team to blame, no referee to hide behind. Just you and what you've put into it. I lost plenty over the years. Each defeat taught me something the victories didn't.

In July 2025, I fractured my right metacarpal. My sword hand. Two surgical nails in it for three months. I haven't fenced since. For someone who's been training since before they could read properly, that's a strange kind of quiet. I'm not done with fencing. But for now, I wait.

Family and service

I'm the oldest of five - three sisters and a brother, the youngest sixteen years my junior. Responsibility found me early. At eighteen, I served fourteen months in the Cypriot military. Mandatory, but not meaningless.

Computers and networks

Through all of it, I was falling in love with computers and networks. What started as curiosity in high school grew into something I couldn't ignore. Now I'm studying Computer Science at the University of Cyprus and interning at PwC this summer. Networking is where I want to specialise - the architecture of how things connect, how information moves, how systems hold together or fall apart.

Writing and worlds

Outside of CS, I fell in love with reading somewhere along the way. Fantasy above all else. Which is how I ended up building something of my own: a fantasy world from scratch. Not adapting anything, not borrowing a setting - building the mythology, the geography, the logic of that world, and eventually writing a full novel set inside it. Possibly many. That project moves slowly and deliberately, which suits it.

Faith

One more thing people tend to be surprised by: I'm a Greek Orthodox Christian, and I mean that sincerely. My faith isn't inherited habit. It's the result of years of research, reading, debate, and a lot of genuine searching. The more I look, the more convinced I become. That's not something I'll be argued out of. I also practise Byzantine music - the ancient choral tradition of the Church. Different from fencing, different from code, but the same instinct: find something worth going deep into, and go deep.
