Fencing since age 6

Fencing has been the spine of my life since I was six years old. My father brought the sport to Cyprus and founded its first club. I was always going to fence. What I didn't expect was how far it would take me.

Career highlights

  • Started fencing aged 6 at my father's club - the first fencing club in Cyprus
  • Cyprus Champion in every age category, all the way through to U21
  • Member of the Cyprus National Fencing Team (Épée)
  • Competed internationally across Europe and beyond, supported by the Cyprus Fencing Federation and the Bank of Cyprus
  • National Fencing Referee (Épée) since 2024 - officiating national-level competitions

Right now

In July 2025, I fractured my right metacarpal - my sword hand - and had two surgical nails in for three months. I haven't trained fencing since. Moving to Nicosia for university has added another layer of distance from the sport, for now.

I intend to get back on the piste. The question is when, not if. In the meantime, the gym keeps the physical discipline that fencing built from disappearing entirely.

Goals
  • Return to fencing when circumstances allow
  • Maintain the conditioning built over years of elite training
  • Long-term: continue competing, potentially move into higher-level refereeing
